From August 25 to 31, 2025, 30 students from grade 11 of SMA Darma Bangsa joined an exciting Edutrip program in Sydney, Australia. This program combined cultural exploration, educational visits, and unforgettable experiences at top universities in Sydney.
The journey began on August 25, 2025, when students gathered at Radin Inten II International Airport early in the morning. After check-in and baggage processes, they took a short flight to Jakarta before continuing on their international flight to Sydney. The group departed in the evening and spent the night in the air.
The group arrived in Sydney on August 26. After immigration and baggage clearance, they enjoyed lunch and headed to Hyde Park, one of Sydney’s most iconic landmarks. In the afternoon, they checked into their hotel to rest after the long journey. Dinner was provided at the hotel before preparing for the next day’s activities.
On the third day, students visited UTS. They joined a trial class, experienced university-style learning, and learned about the study environment. They also enjoyed a campus tour, exploring the modern facilities and unique architecture of the university.
After lunch at the campus canteen, the group moved to Macquarie University. Here, they received valuable information about the programs and campus life. Students also had the chance to share experiences with Macquarie students and join a campus tour, giving them a better picture of studying in Australia. The day ended with a sightseeing stop at the Sydney Opera House and Government House before returning to the hotel.
The highlight of the Edutrip took place on Day 4 with a visit to UNSW. Students participated in a trial class and had opportunities for discussions and sharing sessions with UNSW students. A special moment occurred when SMA Darma Bangsa students performed the traditional Indonesian dance Ge Mu Fa Mi Re (Maumere), proudly showcasing Indonesian culture in an international setting. The visit closed with a campus tour, giving students further insight into UNSW’s academic and cultural environment. The day continued with shopping at Paddy’s Market and the Queen Victoria Building (QVB) before heading back to the hotel.
Day 5 was a free day program where students could explore Sydney on their own or with their friends and teachers. This gave them the chance to experience the city’s lifestyle more freely. In the evening, they gathered again at the hotel for dinner.
On August 30, students checked out of the hotel and headed to Sydney International Airport. After the long flight, the group arrived in Jakarta in the evening. They went through immigration and baggage claim before transferring to a transit hotel for rest.
The final day marked the end of the program. After breakfast and some free time at the hotel, the group traveled to the airport for their flight back to Lampung. They landed safely in the afternoon, bringing home unforgettable memories and valuable experiences.
The Edutrip to Sydney, Australia, gave SMA Darma Bangsa students a unique opportunity to explore world-class universities, learn directly through trial classes and discussions, and experience cultural exchange.
