SMA Darma Bangsa Hosts “Deep Learning Jelajah Coding” Workshop

Bandar Lampung – In an effort to mold a generation ready to face the challenges of the artificial intelligence era, SMA Darma Bangsa has taken another progressive step. For two full days, from December 15 to 16, 2025, SMA Darma Bangsa teachers participated in an intensive training workshop titled “Deep Learning Jelajah Coding” (Deep Learning Coding Exploration). This event was organized thanks to a strategic collaboration between SMA Darma Bangsa and PT Metranet, a subsidiary of Telkom Indonesia focused on education.

Featuring Education Technology Experts

The training was guided directly by Mr. Iswan Bangsawan, alongside Mr. M. Fahmi Hafidz, an experienced Google Certified Trainer. The presence of these two speakers provided fresh insights into how Artificial Intelligence (AI) is no longer just a tool, but a thinking partner in the teaching and learning process.

Day One: Building AI Foundations and Simple Coding

On the first day (Dec 15), the teachers’ enthusiasm was immediately sparked with introductory material on Innovative AI-Based Learning with Gemini. SMA Darma Bangsa teachers were invited to understand how Large Language Models can help design more personalized learning scenarios.

One of the most interesting sessions was NotebookLM Optimization. This tool allows us to transform dense subject material documents into audio formats or interactive summaries that are easier for students to digest.

Not stopping at theory, the session continued with a challenging yet exciting technical practice: Creating Interactive Learning Websites Utilizing Coding on Gemini. Surprisingly, with the help of AI, even teachers without an IT background were able to design simple web structures for their classes. The first day concluded with a gamification session using Wayground, an assessment method that makes learning evaluation feel like playing a game.

Day Two: Visual Media Creation and Total Gamification

Entering the second day (Dec 16), the training focus shifted to visualization and interactivity. Teachers were invited to explore Canva AI to create Interactive Learning Media (MPI). Automation features in Canva proved to significantly cut down visual material creation time without compromising aesthetic quality.

The excitement continued with the Educational Games session. SMA Darma Bangsa teachers were introduced to various modern platforms such as:

  • Zep Quiz: For responsive interactive quizzes.

  • Genially: For presentations and infographics that come “alive”.

Each session always concluded with Practical Assistance. This ensured that every teacher went home not just with knowledge, but with ready-to-use teaching media products for their classrooms the next day.
