SMA Darma Bangsa once again held the 2025 homestay program as a tangible form of outdoor learning focused on character strengthening and cultural preservation. Taking place in the Wanurejo Tourism Village, Magelang, this program was designed to provide students with direct experience in diving into social life, natural potential, and the local wisdom of the community.

Adaptation and Arts Exploration
Upon arrival at the location, the series of activities began with an adaptation process where students were introduced to their respective homestay families. This step served as an entry point for students to directly experience the rhythm of village life.
As a form of introduction to traditional art, students participated in various creative workshops:
- Fan Painting: This activity aimed to foster creativity as well as appreciation for local fine arts.
- Learning Traditional Dance: Students had the opportunity to learn regional dance movements as an effort in cultural preservation.
- Art Appreciation: Students were also given local artworks as mementos for their participation in preserving culture.

Diving into the People’s Economy and Nature
This program also took students directly to the field to help residents sell produce at the traditional market at the foot of Mount Merapi.
The adventure continued with an Andong Tour (horse-drawn carriage tour), where students visited various local business centers such as honey farms and mushroom cultivation sites. Furthermore, historical education was conducted through the Lava Tour Jeep Merapi to learn about the impact of eruptions and the resilience of the surrounding community.

Fellowship Night and Conclusion
As the peak of the cultural event, students watched a Gambyong Dance performance which is full of aesthetic values. After completing the series of activities in Magelang, students continued their journey to the Malioboro area to recognize the center of the creative economy before returning to their region.

A Sweet Closing in Malioboro Before heading back, the group stopped at Malioboro to look for souvenirs and see the iconic urban side of Yogyakarta. Through this journey, it is hoped that SMA Darma Bangsa students return home not just bringing bakpia, but also carrying a more independent character and higher social concern.
