Entering the 2026/2027 academic year, SMA Darma Bangsa welcomes its students through a series of Student Orientation or MPLS programs designed as a moment to get to know the school environment, build togetherness, understand school values, and prepare themselves to undergo a new learning journey. Over five days, students participate in a variety of activities, ranging from the opening ceremony, games and outbound activities, introductions to organizations and extracurriculars, to discipline orientation sessions that serve as essential preparation for daily life at school.

This series is not merely a ceremonial agenda. Each activity carries its own purpose. The first day serves as the opening and introduction moment. The second day brings students closer to the school culture, leadership, student activities, and existing regulations. The third day then reinforces this understanding through Second Day Orientation (SO) and discipline socialization. In an atmosphere that is both informative and enjoyable, students are expected to start the academic year with greater confidence and readiness to become part of the SMA Darma Bangsa community.

The first day of MPLS took place on Monday, July 13, 2026, on the field of Sekolah Darma Bangsa. Participants arrived in sports uniform dress code, giving the morning atmosphere an active and energetic feel. The activity began with ceremony preparations, followed by a flag ceremony as the opening of the event series. Afterwards, the MPLS event was officially opened by the MC.

One of the important moments that morning was the address by the Headmaster, Dr. Tri Jalmo, M.Si. The presence and remarks from the principal delivered an initial message to the students that they were beginning a new journey as part of the big family of SMA Darma Bangsa. Following the address, a symbolic pinning of MPLS participants was conducted to mark that the participants were officially part of the new academic year’s orientation series.

The activity then continued with the introduction of the Head of the Foundation, Principal, and Staff. This moment helped students get to know the people behind the management of the school and those who will guide them through their educational journey. After a morning break, students attended the introduction of the Student Council (OSIS) and the assignment of outbound groups.

The outbound portion was one of the activities that brought a unique flavor. Students were invited to participate in activities together in groups so they could get to know each other, communicate, and build teamwork. Such activities provided an opportunity for students to learn that the school experience does not only take place inside the classroom, but also through interaction, unity, and shared experiences.

Following the outbound session, the program continued with a school environment clean-up. Through this activity, students were encouraged to contribute to maintaining the cleanliness of the school environment. The message was simple yet crucial: the school environment is a shared space, meaning everyone shares the responsibility to care for it.

After lunch, the atmosphere picked up again with social bonding, giving students the opportunity to interact in a more relaxed setting. The first day then concluded with a school tour. Through this activity, students were able to familiarize themselves with various areas of the school. Overall, Day 1 served as a warm beginning to get acquainted with the school while building new friendships.

On Tuesday, July 14, 2026, the MPLS series continued in Hall B of Sekolah Darma Bangsa. On the second day, students wore their white and blue SMP uniforms. The event opened with the OSIS Opening, which served as an introduction to a schedule packed with self-development materials and introductions to school life.

The morning started with the Great Indonesian Children’s Gymnastics. This activity was a fun way to maintain enthusiasm and fitness before students proceeded to the next sessions. Afterwards, participants received sessions on Basic Leadership Training (LDK), National Insight and Discipline, and Basic Marching Drills (PBB) led by DAPBL, a community of Bandar Lampung Paskibra alumni.

The leadership and discipline sessions provided a distinct experience for the students. They were not only guided to understand the concept of leadership, but also learned about the importance of orderliness, teamwork, focus, and responsibility. Meanwhile, the basic marching drills helped cultivate cohesion and the ability to follow group instructions.

Following those sessions, the atmosphere was lightened through OSIS Games. This activity provided space for students to interact and enjoy togetherness. Next, students were introduced to various school activities and extracurriculars. This introduction was important because school life is not only about academic learning; students also have opportunities to develop their interests, talents, creativity, leadership, and teamwork skills through co-curricular and extracurricular activities.

In the subsequent session, students received explanations regarding SDB Core Values, healthy internet use, and social media usage. This topic is highly relevant to students’ lives today. The internet and social media can offer many benefits when used wisely, but they also require responsibility. Therefore, students were invited to understand how to become smart and responsible technology users.

Day 2 then continued with an explanation of the rules and regulations of Sekolah Darma Bangsa. This session served as an important bridge to Day 3, as students began to realize that being part of the school comes with both rights and responsibilities. After a break, students participated in the Securing the Digital Ecosystem session, which re-emphasized the importance of maintaining security and ethics in the digital space.

Before the day ended, students were introduced to the principal and teachers of SMA Darma Bangsa. Day 2 concluded with the announcement of the Outbound Queen & King of MPLS. With a diverse array of activities, Day 2 provided a broader perspective on the school, covering leadership, discipline, organizations, extracurriculars, school values, and the digital world.

Entering Day 3, students received an equally important session, namely SO Discipline in the form of a discipline orientation presented by the SMA Darma Bangsa Discipline Team. This session allowed students to gain a clearer understanding of the regulations in place, the importance of discipline, and the responsibilities they need to uphold as members of the school community.

SMA Darma Bangsa has a vision to become a character- and knowledge-based global educational institution. Its mission encompasses educating students physically and spiritually, building self-character and creativity, as well as producing individuals capable of contributing to society. Consequently, discipline is viewed as a vital part of the character-building process.

During this orientation, students were guided to understand that discipline is not merely about fear of punishment. Discipline is the habit of doing what is right, fulfilling responsibilities, and respecting rules created for the common good. With discipline, the school environment becomes a more orderly, safe, comfortable, and respectful place to learn.

To ensure students have a clear understanding, code-of-conduct violations are divided into three categories: light, moderate, and severe. Light violations include attendance, punctuality, appearance, and attitude. Moderate violations cover gadget usage, school discipline, behavior, facilities and vehicles, as well as social media usage. Meanwhile, severe violations include cigarettes, vapes, alcohol and illicit drugs, violence, immorality, digital misconduct, and dishonesty.

The explanation of the point system served as a reminder that every decision carries consequences. However, the system also demonstrates that discipline is not solely about punishment. There are warning processes, counseling, communication with parents, and guidance. The hope is that students can learn from every mistake and improve before issues become more serious.

The presentation also addressed personal appearance, hair, makeup, school attributes, personal belongings, and vehicles. Students were reminded to follow the rules so that the school environment remains orderly. Prohibited items include vapes and cigarettes, certain electronic devices, hair straighteners, contact lenses, blankets, pillows, stuffed animals, sandals, and other items that do not comply with school policies.

These guidelines were shared so that students can prepare appropriate items before coming to school. This enables students to focus more on learning and school activities without worrying about violating rules that have been clearly explained from the start.

Another key aspect of Day 3’s socialization was student integrity and active participation. SMA Darma Bangsa students are expected to be role models in discipline, uphold honesty, respect teachers, staff, and peers, take responsibility for their learning process, use social media wisely, and preserve their personal and school reputation.

This message feels increasingly important because students’ lives today do not exist solely within the school grounds. Actions taken in the digital space also reflect one’s character. Thus, students need to learn to use social media wisely and consider the impact of every post and action online. This MPLS series serves as initial preparation for students embarking on the 2026/2027 academic year. The hope is that the MPLS experience does not end when orientation concludes. The values acquired should be applied in daily life—in the classroom, around the school grounds, in social interactions, and across digital spaces.

SMA Darma Bangsa MPLS 2026/2027 marks the beginning of an experience-rich journey for students. From the opening ceremony and team-building outbound activities, to organization and extracurricular showcases that encourage self-development, to discipline orientation sessions that instill responsibility, each activity delivered distinct lessons.

Ultimately, being a student at SMA Darma Bangsa is not just about studying to achieve good grades. Beyond that, students are encouraged to grow into individuals of strong character, discipline, honesty, collaboration, and responsibility. As conveyed by the Discipline Team, discipline is not about fear of punishment, but about building character and responsibility. With that spirit, let us enter the 2026/2027 academic year with enthusiasm, mutual respect, and the drive to deliver our best contributions to the school.

As part of the Student Orientation (MPLS) series, SMA Darma Bangsa students participated in numeracy, literacy, and English assessment tests with great enthusiasm and spirit. These tests aimed to identify students’ baseline abilities while mapping their competencies as part of the learning process in the school environment. Through the numeracy test, students sharpened their logical thinking and problem-solving skills, while the literacy and English tests measured their ability to comprehend information and communicate effectively. By participating in these activities, SMA Darma Bangsa students are expected to be better prepared to begin an active, critical, creative, and high-achieving learning journey.

In conclusion, the closing of MPLS serves as a momentum to embark on a new journey for the students as part of the big SMA Darma Bangsa family. With enthusiasm, self-confidence, and motivation to keep growing, students are expected to navigate the learning process responsibly, actively, creatively, and with excellence. May the experiences gained during MPLS become a memorable first step toward reaching their aspirations and achieving great accomplishments in the future.
